وحسب هذه القائمة التي شملت 179 دولة شغلت أريتريا المرتبة الأخيرة إذ وصف نظامها بأنه دكتاتورية مطلقة لا تسمح بالحريات المدنية. وبالنظر إلى اللائحة تبدو سورية غير بعيدة عن أريتريا، وشغلت المرتبة الـ176 على خلفية ممارستها الرقابة والتعتيم على أعمال العنف التي تشهدها البلاد منذ انطلاق الاحتجاجات ضد نظام الرئيس الحالي بشار الأسد في منتصف آذار (مارس) الماضي.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a written declaration, calling to draw attention to the persistent scourge of impunity in Turkey. The declaration, bearing the signatures of 35 PACE delegates from 24 countries, marks the fifth anniversary of the Turkish state’s murder of Hrant Dink and calls for recognition of the Armenian, Assyrian, and Pontic Greek genocides. PanARMENIAN.Net - В связи с 5-летием смерти редактора газеты “Акос” Гранта Динка ПАСЕ принялa резолюцию, в которой призвала Турцию признать геноцид ассирийцев, греков и армян.
В резолюции, подписанной 35 делегатами из 24 стран, говорится: “Мы озадачены политикой отрицания турецких властей. А также преследованием журналистов и применения статьи 301 УК”.

البرلمان الفرنسي يقر قانونا يجرم إنكار إبادة الأرمن بعد الجمعية الوطنية، صادق مجلش الشيوخ الفرنسي الاثنين على قانون يجرم من ينكر إبادة الأرمن. ورغم مساعي تركيا بإفشال القانون، إلا أن مجلس الشيوخ أصر على المصادقة عليه، مما يفتح عهدا جديدا من التوتر بين باريس وأنقرة. وصادق المجلس بغالبية 127صوتا مقابل 86 على القانون الذي كانت تبنته الجمعية الوطنية في 22 كانون الاول/ديسمبر.

ISTANBUL (Combined Sources)—An estimated 20,000 people flooded the streets of Istanbul on Thursday to mark the fifth anniversary of the murder of editor of Agos newspaper, Hrant Dink, and to protest a recent court ruling that set free many of the murder suspects, and denounced the state of affairs in Turkey.
