Nahla protest: Assyria Liberation Party Press Release

The ongoing illegal interventions and violations of the rights of Assyrian villagers on registered lands in northern Iraq, including in areas controlled by Kurdish forces, despite judicial decisions in favor of our people, are a matter of grave concern. Full respect for the rule of law and judicial decisions is fundamental to establishing justice and maintaining public peace.

As the Assyria Liberation Party, we condemn the policy of land expropriation, which violates the legitimate rights and freedoms of our people. As in the past, we once again call on the competent authorities to fully implement court decisions in accordance with the spirit and letter of the law.

We view the peaceful protest announced by political parties and civil society organizations in our homeland, Assyria, to take place on July 6, 2026, in front of the Nuhadra (Duhok) provincial administration building, as an expression of democratic rights, and we express our full support for this just demand.

As the Assyria Liberation Party, we will continue to support all peaceful and democratic initiatives aimed at protecting the legitimate rights and interests of our people, ensuring their presence on our historical lands, and guaranteeing the rule of law.

We will resolutely continue our struggle to ensure justice, enforce court decisions, and protect the rights of the Assyrian people.
